Blends

Blends are fairly easy to make, they just require some time. So, I'll be teaching you to make the simple kind, with just two photos.

I'm using these two photos of Hilary Duff.

I don't like Hilary, but when you're first starting out it's best to use photos with white backgrounds. Okay, open up Paint Shop Pro, and paste both photos into it. Both photos need a little color correcting, so I'll do a little bit of that, to make Hilary a little more vibrant. Now, make a new image, with the settings used below.

Paste both of your images into the new one by pressing ctrl L. Have one photo overlap the other, like so:

If your photo has a white background, selecting it will be a snap, just click on the Magic Wand Tool:; And just click on the white part overlapping the other image, so it's selected. Now press Ctrl H, to bring up the Feather Selection window, I like using the settings below:

But it doesn't really matter. Just the higher the number the more it feathers.
Now hit enter, and you'll see that the selections expanded a little bit.

Now for the fun part (at least I think so) hit the Delete key (it should be somewhere next to the End key, and the Insert key), until all of the white has faded away. Like so:

I didn't use a very good picture of Hilary, so I had to do a little more feathering. The finshed blend should come out something close to this:

;

And of course, the photo looks horrible, but hopfully you get the picture.
